Call for Papers Workshop: Macroeconomic Challenges of the Green Transition III
The Ecohesion Collective and the Department of Economics at the University of Pisa invite you to submit an abstract for the third edition of the Workshop on Macroeconomic Challenges of the Green Transition, taking place on September 11-12, 2025.
We welcome original research addressing the macroeconomic dimensions of environmental sustainability and climate policy. We particularly encourage submissions tackling relevant policy issues on the macroeconomic implications of the transition towards a sustainable and low-carbon economy, developing structural-macroeconomic modeling approaches to study the transition in advanced and developing economies, and contributions dealing with economic and distributive consequences of climate change. The Workshop Macroeconomic challenges of the green transition is a great opportunity to deeply discuss Ecological Macroeconomics methods and models. We invite submissions based on various methodological approaches, such as (but not limited to) stock-flow consistent models, input-output analysis, system dynamics, integrated-assessment models with out-of-equilibrium paths, post-Keynesian economics, empirical studies, among others.
We particularly encourage submissions from early-career researchers, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows. The workshop provides an excellent forum for receiving constructive feedback from established scholars and engaging in in-depth discussions about ongoing research.
Participation is free of charge for both presenters and attendees. Attendance is warmly encouraged even without submitting a proposal — all researchers interested in ecological macroeconomics are welcome to participate in person in the Workshop.
Workshop participants will be invited to submit their research papers to the Special Issue on Ecological Macroeconomics in Ecological Economics journal.
